Projects

CREATECH
The CREATECH project develops cultural heritage education in early childhood by collaborating with both new and previous project partners!
From the earlier Future Narratives project, INTO SCHOOL and the Association for Cultural Heritage Education in Finland (Kulttuuriperintökasvatuksen seura) continue their involvement, along with Fundación SM from Spain. New partners joining the initiative are HARP from Italy and KulturAll from Serbia. Each participating country is represented by two kindergartens, with Finland’s coming from Vaasa and Espoo.
The project's goals are to:
-
Strengthen the themes of local environment and cultural heritage in early childhood education
-
Deepen educators’ professional skills in interdisciplinary and phenomenon-based learning
-
Empower children’s cultural competencies, participation, and creative expression
The project was launched in April 2024 with a partner meeting in Belgrade, Serbia, and will continue in autumn 2024 with an international training in Fontecchio, Italy. During the 2024–2025 school year, the kindergartens will carry out a phenomenon-based project in which children explore their surroundings through the lens of the past, present, and future. In the final phase, children will interpret their experiences through storytelling and produce various audiovisual and literary works, which will be showcased in the project's 360° online exhibition.

Final outcomes of the project will include a research article and the CREATECH Guide for early childhood professionals.

Kurkkaa Espooseen
In a joint project between the city of Espoo and INTO SCHOOL, children's favorite places and the surrounding environment in Espoo come alive in a completely new way through music, lyrics, rhymes, pictures and stories made by children.
In the project, the preschoolers have been able to write and compose their very own song, which were inspired by the Peek Into Espoo book created in collaboration between Carlos Da Cruz and the City of Espoo.
MusaPeda & Uudet lukutaidot
